Power Point Sides
These power point slides I created as part of my education rollout of the Sleep Hygiene QI project that I coined "S.H.H.H" (Sleep Hygiene in Hospitals for patient Healing). I included this presentation during my 10 minute in-service for MICU RN that were unable to attend the two provided journal clubs.
Below you will find the staff recommendations I developed based on current evidence on promoting sleep for patients in intensive care units
Below are the "do not disturb" signs I created for use outside of the patient's room. The nursing staff can utilize these door tags to prompt family/staff that the patient is resting.
Floor sign into unit
I made this below floor sign to prompt family/staff that are entering the MICU about our quiet time between 11pm-4am. It is placed every night at 11pm at the entrance to the MICU.
I created four of these signs that are placed on the two nurse's stations countertops to remind family and staff of " S.H.H.H"
Completed Teaching Roster for Staff
This teaching roster shows 100% completion of the MICU educational teaching on my sleep promoting project for patients in the unit
Information for the Patient and Family:
Because my sleep promotion project not only involved participation from staff, but for family as well; I felt it value added to include the Family Education and Patient Family Centered Care committees. Below you will find my patient/family information sheet I created and the process I took to get it approved by the above mentioned committees
Email thread and Approval From Family Education and Patient Family Centered Care Committes
Family Information Sheet Final Draft
This Laminated family information sheet is placed in each patient's room where family sits; as well as placed in the "Family Information Book" I created for our family waiting area
